Fifteen Catholic colleges to visit diocesan high schoolsAugust 30, 2007The 47th Annual Catholic College Week will be held Sept. 4-7 in the Diocese of Sioux City. Each day, Catholic colleges and universities will visit two of the eight Catholic high schools of the diocese. The visits provide an opportunity for area high school students to check out the benefits of education at a four-year Catholic institution. There are 15 Catholic colleges and universities that plan to participate in the 46th Annual Catholic College Week. After visiting representatives from these Catholic colleges and universities, the high school students are encouraged to schedule a campus visit. Students should check with their guidance counselor for more information regarding Catholic College Week. How big are the classes? How easy is it to meet with faculty? Ask students if they were able to register for the classes you want? What is the total cost of attending the college? Are all freshmen assigned an academic counselor? Where do most freshmen live? Can I take a tour? What types of financial aid does the college offer? What activities are available for students? Who teaches the courses for first-year students? How successful are the college's graduates in finding jobs? What services, such as shopping and transportation, are available locally? |
