Schools nourish faith of students, Enhance relationship with ChristJanuary 27, 2005Dear Friends in Christ: One of the most incredible things of Catholic Schools is the way that we take
one week each year to reflect on the many ways in which our students, families
and parishes are blessed with fruits of a ministry of Gandhi once said, "Be the change you wish to see in the world." People who are associated with Catholic schools become changed in the way they see their responsibilities to their neighbors and the rest of society. We see teachers, students, parents and clergy, working to make certain that every child is formed with a deep commitment to make a difference in our world. Through scripture, service, and community, we are called to proclaim into action the work of Jesus Christ. Through these actions, Catholic schools become a change agent that is needed to see a change in our world. Each day of Catholic Schools Week 2005, reflect on two simple thoughts: How do I see the world changing to be a better place for all people? What will I do today to make the world change to achieve that vision? As we begin Catholic Schools Week 2005, let us be joyful in the "Faith in Every Child" in the Catholic Schools of the Diocese of Sioux City. Yours in Christ, Kevin B. Vickery |
