Chosen Few to perform at Emmetsburg CatholicEMMETSBURG - Chosen Few, a Gospel quartet, will present a concert at Emmetsburg Catholic School. The concert is slated for 7 p.m. May 3 at Corrigan Hall of Emmetsburg
Catholic School. "Chosen Few has become an annual event at Emmetsburg Catholic School. The gospel music provides an enjoyable evening for the whole family. This year their program will showcase a variety of music and not just Gospel. The music and message appeals to people of all ages. This event is also a fundraiser for textbooks to enable us to keep current with today's explosion of information," noted Jean Hyslop, principal at Emmetsburg Catholic. This group has been called mid-America's favorite quartet. Their ministry over the past 12 years has reached millions. Chosen Few was at Silver Dollar City from 1992-2001. From 1992 to 1996 they were the resident Gospel quartet, where they performed to over 2.5 million people each year. In 1997, Silver Dollar City moved them to the Echo Hollow Amphitheater to headline the evening show. From 2002 to current they have been in full-time ministry touring the country, singing and spreading the Gospel. "Not only is Chosen Few fun and enjoyable as entertainment, but the performers are kind, generous people who share their faith willingly with their audiences," said Hyslop. Chosen Few is made up of brothers Ashley and Casey Ellison, Brian Arnold and Scott Fraker. In 1996, Arnold who is the group's baritone singer, songwriter and piano player, was in a life threatening auto accident. He broke his neck and was paralyzed in the left arm. His personal testimony adds to the group's presentation. Tickets for the concert are $10 for adults and $5 for students. Tickets are available at the school office, (712) 852-3464 or at the door. |
