Bob Carlisle's Butterfly Kisses Tour comes to Sioux City

Posted Oct. 3, 2002

Grammy, Dove and American Music Award winning artist Bob Carlisle will appear at Sioux City's Orpheum Bob Carlisle Theatre next month. Carlisle will visit Siouxland to perform at the "Families in Need" concert, a benefit for Catholic Charities of Sioux City.

Carlisle is recognized as one of the top Christian contemporary artists of our time. In 1998 he won a Grammy Award for "Butterfly Kisses", chosen the best country song of the year. Since that time, he has won countless Dove and Country Music Association awards for his music that has so much to say about life, family and God's grace.

Jerry Eaton, director of Catholic Charities in Sioux City, says the Bob Carlisle concert on Nov. 16 at 7 p.m. Butterfly Kisses presents a wonderful opportunity to share the talents of a special musician while assisting those in need.

"It's obvious that the delivery of social services is becoming much more challenging in these times," said Eaton. "Concert-goers should know that their support of this special event would certainly be a tremendous boost to our counseling programs for families and individuals."

A special feature at the concert will be an appearance by 3rd and 4th graders of Sioux City's Catholic Schools. The grade school choir will accompany Carlisle on two of his hits, including "Abba Father" and "We Fall Down". Carlisle is also scheduled to release a Christmas CD this year and he will perform a few selections from that new offering.

Tickets for the Bob Carlisle concert will go on sale Oct. 10 and will be available at the Sioux City Auditorium and all Ticket Master locations or by calling (712) 279-4850. Ticket prices are $18 and $22 and all seats are reserved.
