Posted July 25, 2002

Catholic Mutual Insurance has hired a new claims/risk manager to serve as the representative for the Diocese of Sioux City.

Dave Harding, a resident of Newcastle, Neb., started his Dave Harding work with the company on July 22. The position was previously held by Rod Oligmueller who recently accepted a promotion with Catholic Mutual.

"I know that I have some very big shoes to fill considering all that Rod has done over the past three years. But I feel that with my strong background in claims handling and my willingness to learn, I should be able to step right in and not miss a beat. I look forward to building a positive relationship with all those associated with the Diocese of Sioux City," said Harding.

As the claims/risk manager, Harding will be responsible for administering all claims, safety and risk management functions for the Diocese of Sioux City. Harding, while an employee of Catholic Mutual, will work exclusively for the diocese and his office is located in the Central Catholic Offices in Sioux City.

Harding, a 1987 graduate of Newcastle Public High School, attended Wayne State College where he earned a Bachelor of Science in business administration, May 1991.

After college he worked for a year as a sales representative for Perkins Office Solutions. Harding's insurance career began in 1992 when he went to work for Le Mars Mutual Insurance company as an inside adjuster. He progressed to a field claims representative position with Le Mars Mutual before going to work for United Fire & Casualty in September of 1994. There he worked as a field claims adjuster with territory covering west central Iowa.

In 1996 he went to work for Great West Casualty Company in South Sioux City, Neb. He was a liability adjuster with Great West when he accepted his position with Catholic Mutual.

Harding and his wife, Julie, have two children - Sydney, 2 and Sarah, 4 months.

They are members of St. Peter's Church in Newcastle.
