Bike Pilgrimage: A
spiritual journey through diocese
Info: Pilgrimage on Wheels starts on June 9 in Storm Lake and concludes its 433.5 mile journey on June 15 in Sioux City. For information relating on how to secure a daily $15 pass, check out the diocesan web site at www.scdiocese.org. Daily passes will be available at each evening's stop and before each day's ride from 6-8 a.m. Coordinators of the ride are Chuck and Carla Offenburger. Approximate times cyclists will arrive in the location and a brief overview of activities. Sunday, June 9 62.3 miles, Storm Lake to Mapleton Storm Lake, St. Mary's - 6:30 a.m. Mass at St. Mary's Church, breakfast from 6-8 a.m. Schaller, St. Joseph (7:30-9 a.m.) Galva (8-9:30 a.m.) Ida Grove, Sacred Heart (10:30 a.m.-1 p.m.) Lunch served at the church. Battle Creek (noon-2 p.m.) Danbury, St. Mary's (1-3 p.m.) Mapleton, St. Mary's (2p.m. and later)- 3-4 p.m. Narrated church tours, 5-7 p.m. dinner in church hall, 7-7:40 p.m. Nuns on the Run perform and 7:45 p.m. St. Mary's Choir, St. Joseph's Choir and Father David Hemann perform. Monday, June 10 55.3 miles, Mapleton to Carroll Mapleton, St. Mary's - 6-8 a.m. breakfast and Mass at 6:30 a.m. Schleswig - (7:30-9 a.m.) snack catered by St. Boniface of Charter Oak and St. Mary's of Ute. Boyer (10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.) lunch catered by St. Ann of Vail. Primghar, St. Anthony's (11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.) Hospers, St. Anthony's (1:30-4 p.m.) Granville, St. Joseph's and Spalding High School (2:30 p.m. and later) - Dinner from 5-7 p.m. at Spalding Catholic, 6:30-7:30 p.m. program telling the history of St. Joseph's Parish, a prayer service and music will occur at Spalding Catholic. A baseball game & softball tournament will be featured. Saturday, June 15 58.5 miles, Granville to Sioux City Granville, St. Joseph's Catholic Church - 6:30 a.m. Mass with breakfast served 6-8 a.m. at Spalding Catholic. Remsen, St. Mary's (7:30-9:30 a.m.) Snack. Oyens, St. Catherine's (8-10 a.m.) LeMars, St. Joseph's, St. James, Gehlen High School - lunch served 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Merrill, Our Lady of the Assumption (11:30 a.m.-2 p.m.) Ellendale, St. Joseph's (12:30-3 p.m.) Sioux City, Briar Cliff University (1:30 p.m. and later) 3:30 p.m. Cathedral of the Epiphany guided tour, food booths provided by local groups and BCU will serve from 5 to 9 p.m. Warm up music featuring students from Heelan High School will be featured from 6-6:30 p.m. followed by one hour of music spun by DJ Joe.
