Diocesan high schools hold graduations

The eight diocesan high schools are proud to hold their graduation events. Each high school has a baccalaureate planned as well as graduation ceremonies.

Bishop Garrigan High School in Algona had 62 graduating seniors this year. The baccalaureate was held on May 9 at Friedmann Auditorium and graduation was held on May 12, also at Friedmann Auditorium. Bishop Garrigan does not name a valedictorian and salutatorian.

Kuemper High School in Carroll has 132 seniors graduating this spring. Baccalaureate is scheduled for May 23 at 8:30 p.m. in the Kuemper gymnasium. Graduation is planned for May 26 at 1:30 p.m. also in the gymnasium. Joan Berger is valedictorian and Suzanne Sander is the salutatorian.

St. Edmond School in Fort Dodge has 63 graduating seniors who will take part in ceremonies on May 26 at 1:30 p.m. at the school. Baccalaureate is planned for 7:30 p.m. at Corpus Christi Church in Fort Dodge. The valedictorian is Jennifer Yetmar, and there is no salutatorian.

Granville's Spalding High School has 27 graduates. Baccalaureate was held on May 16 at Alton St. Mary's. Graduation is planned for May 19 at 2 p.m. in the Spalding gym. This year, there are two valedictorians, Lacy Hansen and Tim Draftz. Salutatorian is Dena Penning.

Gehlen High School in Le Mars has graduation planned for May 19 at 1:30 p.m. in the Gehlen gym. Fifty-six students will be graduating. Baccalaureate was held at St. James Church in Le Mars on May 15. The valedictorian and salutatorian were not currently selected.

Remsen St. Mary's High School has 29 graduating seniors. Baccalaureate was held on May 15 at the high school gym, with graduation planned on May 19 at 2 p.m. in the gym. The valedictorian is Jade Bunkers and the salutatorian is Abby Arens.

Bishop Heelan High School in Sioux City has 142 students graduating. Baccalaureate was held on May 15 at St. Michael's Church. Graduation is on May 19 at 2 p.m. at the Sioux City Auditorium. Valedictorian and salutatorian were not available at press time.

St. Mary's High School in Storm Lake has 22 graduating seniors. Baccalaureate was held on May 16 at St. Mary's Church. Graduation is set for May 19 at 1:30 in the high school gym. The valedictorian is Jessica Netsch and the salutatorian is Jennifer Petersen.
