Unless you’ve been on the moon, you’re probably aware of the jaw-dropping undercover videos of Planned Parenthood released by the Center for Medical Progress. Even members of the pro-abortion secular press are scratching their heads, struggling to explain what’s on the videos.
They have been unable to ignore the content due to the firestorm on social media, the governors calling for an investigation of Planned Parenthood in their states, the proposals of bipartisan legislation in Congress to defund the abortion giant and the fact that they just can’t explain away the alleged actions of employees at the highest levels of Planned Parenthood.
The usual blame game isn’t working. The callousness of the discussions and the shear ugliness of abortion is there for everyone to hear. Those discussions were delivered, as twisted as it sounds, during lunch conversations where Planned Parenthood doctors sipped drinks.
The Center for Medical Progress worked closely with pro-life organizations, embedding themselves for almost three years inside Planned Parenthood, in an effort to prove the abortion giant profits from the illegal sale of the body parts of aborted babies and illegally alters abortion procedures in order to, pardon the gross factor here, carefully extract heads, livers and other body parts high in demand.
When the first video was released mid-July showing Dr. Deborah Nucatola, Planned Parenthood’s senior director of medical services, discussing the process with undercover actors posing as buyers from a medical research company, it was the casualness of discussing the preference for specific body parts that forced Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards to issue a statement describing the “tone” of the doctor’s statements as “insensitive.”
According to the transcript of the first video, Nucatola could clearly be heard saying “a lot of people want liver” and “a lot of people want intact hearts.”
But if donating “fetal tissue,” which Cecile Richards also discussed in her statement, is so wonderful and noble, why is the tone of her top medical staffers so “insensitive”? Shouldn’t your director of medical services have a better grasp of the company lingo?
And what’s all this talk about “tissue” when specific body parts are repeatedly mentioned, not only in the first video, but in the second undercover video where another top doctor describes the need for “less crunchy” methods of abortion in order to procure intact parts?
If the research is so standard and the money exchanged only for “covering transfer costs” as Planned Parenthood claims, then why the need for individual clinics to negotiate pricing as indicated in the videos? These are just a few of the questions being raised that Planned Parenthood has so far refused to answer.
Given our current pro-abortion administration and anything-goes culture, I’m not optimistic that Planned Parenthood will be defunded anytime soon.
But something is different this time around.
The shock and disgust expressed by average Americans show that the scales may be falling off the public’s eyes. Those who didn’t give much thought to abortion and bought into the “choice” mantra are beginning to understand the reality: harvesting parts from a fellow human being. That puts the spotlight on not only highly questionable and unethical research but also on abortion itself.
For Planned Parenthood, the summer of 2015 has hardly been a day at the beach. With a total of eight videos released so far and more to come, it’s been a summer of major discontent, with “Cecile Richards and Company” busy doing the back stroke big time.
