Eight students receive Hagedorn Scholarships

This spring, eight graduating seniors from the Catholic high schools of the Diocese of Sioux City are receiving scholarships from the Mary Catherine Hagedorn Trust based in Lake View, Iowa.

Throughout the many academic years, this Trust has generated over $703,300.00 for scholarship funds. Moreover, 392 students have benefited as scholarship winners since 1979.

Named after a Catholic farming woman, Mary Catherine Hagedorn, the Trust was founded in accordance with her last will and testament through the sale of farmland in Sac County. Since then, annual reports of all transactions of the trust have been made to the State of Iowa for review and approval through the Sac County Court House.

Current trustees are Colin McCullough, McCullough Law Firm, Lake View and Ronald Muhlbauer, a certified public accountant, Carroll. Erin E. McCullough, an attorney in Lake View, is the attorney for the Trust.
