Holy Spirit Retirement Home in Sioux City has reported that its Second Annual Spirit of Home Fundraiser – held on May 11 at the Sioux City Country Club – was a “huge success.”
According to Ranee Ehrich, Holy Spirit director of marketing and development, “thanks to the community’s support, we surpassed our $80,000 goal and raised more than $82,000 for the Holy Spirit Retirement Home Foundation.”
Ehrich emphasized how the committee was “humbled and incredibly grateful” for the money raised.
“However, the best part of the event was to see the sold-out crowd of more than 280 Holy Spirit enthusiasts come together,” she said.
Proceeds from the fundraiser will help support projects to improve the facilities, provide needed equipment, and enhance services for all Holy Spirit residents. Some of the priorities include: renovating the first floor whirlpool room into a shower room, updating cable television throughout the facility to include a live feed of daily Mass and adding outdoor retractable awnings throughout the facility to improve outdoor shaded areas.
Because of the sold-out nature of the event, next year’s Spirit of Home Fundraiser is set for May 3 at Country Celebrations Event Center, Sioux City.
